PLOT:
"The film centers on Cataleya Restrepo (Zoe Saldana) who at age 10 sees the brutal murder of her parents by a Colombian drug lord Don Luis. Cataleya manages to escape the bullets of the assassin and reach Chicago, where her uncle lives Emilio, also a gangster.
Emilio is doing its best to remove Cataleya from the criminal life, but she is determined to become a professional killer. At 25, Cataleya has become a real killer operating on behalf of her uncle, Emilio. But her sole desire is to find Don Luis to avenge the death of her parents."
Colombiana is an upcoming action drama movie directed by Olivier Megaton based on a script by Luc Besson. The story revolves around a young woman who, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. The film is starring Zoe Saldana and Michael Vartan. The movie Colombiana will be released on September 2, 2011.

Check out your first look at Zoe Saldana, once again slinging those assault weapons, in the new actioner “Colombiana”. Saldana is no stranger to tough shooting babe roles; she essentially played the same character in “The Losers”, for instance. The movie co-stars Lennie James, who was awesome in “The Walking Dead” pilot, plus Max Martini from “The Unit”, a criminally underrated action TV show that has since been canceled. The film is from Luc Besson and company, which means you can expect plenty of spectacular action set pieces, but just enough “story” to justify those spectacular action set pieces.

Colombiana” would star Saldana as an assassin from Colombia, where she witnessed bad guys killing her parents when she was a wee child.
